I'm getting sick of my Galaxy Tab. There's practically no gestures and I'm sick of the poor, laggy touchscreen with shit sensitivity and the sluggish bloated OS. I'm still going to give it more time though, because the larger screen is better for watching films (than my iphone) when growing a tail.

Sol Campbell.
On football focus he was moaning about not enough black managers are given the chance at top clubs. It's nothing to do with the colour of their skin it's because they are simply not good enough. He always plays the racism card. Look at the way he came out before the euro's.

How do you know that? The point being made was that black coaches are not even getting the chance to interview for managerial positions i.e. good candidates are not getting to the interview stage. By definition, we don't know how well qualified/good/bad these candidates are. Statistically, pure common sense says there is something more going on than just the lack of suitably able/qualified candidates to account for the dearth of black managers at every level of the game. Maybe it's racism, maybe it's something else, but "they're just not good enough" is about as likely to be the explanation as it was when it was being used as an excuse for the lack of black players in the 60s/70s.

Although I do agree Sol Campbell's a prick Smiley

It is simply down to the fact that the majority of people in this country are white, 90% in fact. So in theory 9/10 football players/managers would also be white.

But they're not. It's something like 40% black professional players and little or fuck all % black managers. So there is an obvious disconnect. None of which bears any relation to simple population (as there are many other factors in play as to why people go into professional sports at all)

Really? Surely a better way to look at percentages would be the number of black players in the professional game? I'm guessing it's higher than 1 in 10...

It may well be FH, but the anecdotal evidence from ex-players and managers suggests they do want to go into management but feel they're not getting the opportunities. Maybe the problem starts further back - i.e. maybe it's not so much a lack of black managers as coaches, so that there is then just proportionately fewer qualified candidates for the managerial vacancies. But if that is the case, then that just poses the question of why there are so few black coaches (if there are)?

Never knew that, if true then the issue is getting black players into coaching/management after they've retired.

I think an even bigger issue is the fact that pretty much there are no Asian players, let alone managers in this country.

Park Ji Sung is Asian, and he plays for QPR and didn't Wolves have a Korean playing for them as somepoint?
