Holding doors open for people who then do not have the remote politeness to say "thank you".

The two car drivers who didn't bother to yield or acknowledge that I was there (on my bike) - especially the dick who pulled straight out of the junction in front of me, they nearly had brake lever scratches down the side of their motor

I hate that too. I find shouting 'thank you' in their faces as they walk through eases my anger and shows them what rude fuckers they are

Does my head in as well. On the whole, though, I think people in this country are better than most when it comes to thinking of others/common courtesy. Probably because of this that you notice incidents like DR's in the first place.

As a result of the fatal crash on the M4 on Monday, its prompted me that the roadworks on the M4/M5 around Bristol are particularly irritating. Specifically, the attitudes towards the 50mph average speed limit empoyed by HGV's and the utter carnage of the exit from the M5 northbound to join the M4 at Almondsbury.
As an example, travelling westbound on the M4 towards the Almondbury interchange, there are signs advising drivers which lanes to get in for the M5 South/North and M4 towards Wales a good mile or so before the junction. Yes, there are idiots who still see fit to cut everyone up at the last minute, but at least the warnings are there. Not the case on the M5 northbound, where the first (and only) sign is plonked right on top of Junction 16, giving those unfamiliar with the layout approximately 300 yards to get in the right lane. Total and utter carnage.
To think these roadworks will be there until Spring 2014, so another 15+ months of this shit. Be careful out there folks.

Just what, pray, does "upgrading to managed motorways" mean anyway?

Variable speed limits and use of the hard shoulder at busy times. Just like the section of the M6 between junctions 8 and 10, which doesn't appear to have helped much at all.

Putting my back out (again) and spending two days laid up in fucking agony.
It must be getting better though as I can now get downstairs and make a cup of tea. Even better is the fact that I can just about now go for a shit unaided.
And it's costing my Paddy Power account a fortune.

We really don't do snowfall in this country.
Small amount of snow this morning and the trains immediately go to shit.

Trying to watch Geordie Shore online.
It's utter shite but the horrible horrible people on it make me feel better about myself.
a 40 minute show takes a good 2 hours to watch online due to the shitty streams.
