As someone with kids, I didn't have a problem with the Blunsdon having a no kids policy.  You knew where they stood and I actually use ist quite a bit when visiting my parents with my brother.  We'd leave the kids with the women folk and go for a few pints before sunday lunch.  I'm not so keen on the half way house approach though, either let kids in or have an age limit.  Then everyone knows where they stand.

Tawny is similar I thought, in that kids were allowed in but only at a tablebeing used to order food.

Toby is fine other than having to battle the crowds if you only want a drink.

Quite like the Manor, even if a chain, it has a bit of character to the building.  They are much more relaxed on kids as well.  My 3 year old is a nutcase and we never have any issues just drinking.

The Blunsdon Arms is shit. Awful pub, awful service, average food.

I don't go in there, would rather support 'proper pubs' in the area.

Had our annual girls Christmas meal in there last night. My food was ok, but a couple of my friends sent their meals back.  The manager came back out with the new meals and just shoved them on the table, no apology or anything.  The wait at the bar was ridiculous as well.

Spending last week in Fuerteventura - 1st proper holiday for ages and kids first time abroad. 5 days of cloud, wind and rain, 1 day of sun, 2 very poorly kids with ear infections, 3 trips to the medical centre & 250 euros of medical expenses

Still at least the flight times were good  Angry

And sat next to Burnely fan on the flight out, good chap, said Austin is a Burnley legend and they don't want to lose him. I reminded him that we beat them in the cup  Smiley

There is a different Lego Star Wars toy behind every door. Plus he wanted out of his christmas present money so it wasn't to bad. details are on the link below. ( now argos have reduced them to £19.99 )

Despite telling her every year not to bother my mother brought me a fancy advent calendar from Thorntons with my name iced on an additional special chocolate, she also still insists on doing me a stocking every year.

I'm 31

When I was a kid Advent Calendars didn't have chocolate in them, just a nativity scene behind each of the dates.
I can imagine how well that would go down today....
