And don't get me started on paying £3,000+ for my annual season ticket in to London and then having to stand some days while, just feet away, there are rows of empty seats in the First Class carriages. (I could construct a perfectly logical argument in favour of justifying the train company's right to offer First Class tickets, by the way. But I need to have a whinge.)

They sometimes declassify first class but only if it's got to the point where it's physically impossible to accomodate more people in standard class. What I think is more of a problem is the high % of seats which are reserved.

Over-provision of disabled parking spaces at supermarkets and motorway service areas.
No problems with it. I pass the spaces and feel I'm lucky to walk the extra few yards. If I become disabled then i know I'll get a space.

Not bothered about disabled spaces. Now, parent and child spaces are another story...

Wait til you have kids, they're ace, and stop dozy women from hitting your car when they get their babies out their car.

Also gives you space to put the trolley while strapping the kids in the car. Of course they aren't critical in any sense of the word, but it makes life easier. I wouldn't care if they were on the far side of the car park either, though its obvious why they aren't.

I'm not a regular commuter but was on the train up to London last week and had to stand for probably a 1/3rd of the journey due to no spare seats which got me thinking about the capacity of trains. It must be one of the only forms of transport that in an emergency no body would have any reasonable idea of how many passengers were on board at that particular time or am I wrong in assuming that?

Well they know how many seats there are and they have a rough estimate of how much extra standing room there is too.

Charities who don't bother coming to collect their bags. I've made the effort to fill the bag and another bin bag with unwanted clothes and left them outside on the drive the night before the collection date. 6 days later and they're still sitting there. What's the point of distributing the bags in the first place.
