Ah that time of year when the students begin to bemoan the easy life.

How I miss them.

Got 9 till 11 and 12 till 1 tomorrow. I'll be leaving for Swindon at about 4ish. So that leaves... not a lot. Wednesday I have a day off so I should be able to have at least one done by Wednesday night.

The amount of time referencing takes on uni essays. Fucking joke.

What are they about and how many words? You should be able to get one done tonight, lectures tomorrow and have a sleep before coming back to Swindon.

Or just bung off your lectures tomorrow innit.

Aren't you doing a journalist based degree!?!

2000 words each. One is for my Eastern European literature in translation course, I'm yet to decide on a question. (I'm doing Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis) Any ideas? I'm thinking something along on the lines of him being more human in bug form, than his family. How to turn that into a question though?

The other is for my cinema in Eastern Europe course. I haven't decided on a film yet. I'll watch one of them again in the morning and then decide from there.

I can't, I'm only just on track for the 70% rule. For every course in fact. All those hungover mornings where I've gone back to bed seem a bit silly now.

Have you read any Milan Kundera on that course?

2000 words and you're worried?

I look forward to you 'OMG! I can't believe I got 68%' post in a couple of weeks.

I am, but some two of the modules in the first year are academic type things, where referencing is a necessity.

Doubt I'll have time to do any referencing so it will probably be about 45/50%.

Nope but I've watched Jaromil Jires' adaptation of The Joke by Kundera. It was alright, bit boring. Not keen on most of the Czechoslovak New Wave stuff, all a bit samey.

Referencing really doesn't take that long does it? You might as well follow the Reg Smeeton diet and be done with it. First year and all that.

I have to find stuff that's relevant though.

Anyway these are only practice essays so I'm not too bothered about the mark, but they're still compulsory.
