Student elections. It's all bullshit, feeding the needs of the egotistical and the power hungry. Anyone willing to waste their student experience on it needs their heads examining.

Kind of like real politics i guess

And usually it results in sweet f a, nothing being changed even though they promised a laser disco every Tuesday lunch time and a big screen TV in the cafeteria with the all female mud wrestling on 24/7.

My favourite catch-22. An unapproachable amount of work and the fact it makes me procrastinate, which in turn makes the work more unapproachable, which in turn makes me procrastinate, which in turn...

Every year when I was running Ents at SU's, the next set of people would come in and some wise ass would think 'oh ill get voted in by promising to get cheaper drinks/ better dj's / more bands etc etc'.  We'd have them broken in by october.  Just by explaining a little thing called REALITY!

Those people are now mp's.  Still bullshitting after all these years.

I do this so much, quite often I have a chance to get ahead and then waste it and end up working longer hours to make up for the time I spent procrastinating

Why, what have you done?

Well as the newly installed projection manager it's up to me (at the moment due to having vastly inexperienced staff) to get the trailers ready to go into films for the new week. Every now and then we don't have the stock to cover all the changes, so we send off a form saying what we're missing. I was under the impression once HO got the form, we'd get the trailers. Anyways, it's actually up to me to order them from the distributors. We didn't trailer Best Exotic when we were meant to, this got back to HO and the film itself isn't doing as well as predicted.... Which is coming back to me.. I'll probably be ok, I'm in for the mother of all bollockings though.

Oh dear.  However, I would say the blame lies with your boss or whoever provided training/handover on your new role for not explaining the process properly?

Where do you work, it sounds a very interesting job?
