I’ve had an ongoing case with Thames Water for seven months. I was finally given a date for them to fit a new water in early August so was surprised to get home from work on Thursday to see a card in the letter box saying that the work had been completed but after inspecting the new smart meter on the Friday morning I was alarmed to see that it was immersed in water and it appears that there is now a leak either from the new  meter or connecting pipe work. After another two hour fun packed conversation with different departments on the telephone I’m still none the wiser as to when my original case will be completed as they’ve now opened up another escalation and say they will get back to me within ten working days🤣

I would rather the water companies were nationalised rather than some of the train companies

I'll happily take both.

Must admit, part of me wishes I’d stayed in Greece. But you hit a certain age and play the percentages of where you’d be best living.
Even though Greece also lowered their voting age?

Most expats return home when they know the NHS will pick up the tab for their soon to be or currently failing health.

People's inability to put their rubbish in bins these days. Im now taking part in rubbish roulette these days on the train, where I put the tray table down and whether or not there is someone's rubbish for me to put in the bin. There seems to be more dog shit about these days, have people stopped clearing up after them now?

Whilst on my soapbox I would also ban mobile phone calls in supermarkets and public transport. I hate other people potentially listening in to my inane, pointless conversations, but the majority of people seem to thrive on it.

You're too young. I was in my 20s before ANYONE in this country even considered picking up after their dogs. Pavements we're a fucking minefield

White dog shit too.

I was about to post, as a child in the 80's there did seem to be plenty of the stuff kicking around. Wasn't one of the shoes, of that time, by 'Kickers' actually nicknamed shit kickers because the shape of them meant you could effectively scoop dried out dog detritus and fire up into the air?

Sorry, it's a particularly boring train journey today!

We’d play football on any old piece of grass - usually a dog shit depository. Common occurrence to get it on your hands and knees along with all other kinds of stuff.

I was thinking of this the other day when I watched a young couple with their precious darlings having coffee and cake al fresco. They wiped down the entire table and chairs they were sitting at with what were, presumably, some kind of anti bacterial wet wipes. So afeared that any accumulated germs may bring the apocalypse down upon them.

And people wonder why so many kids are allergic to all kinds of different stuff nowadays - they never get exposed to any germs.

I was flicking through twitter yesterday looking at some of the great memories of Ozzy Ozbourne and happened to notice a post by Alex Jones intimating that Ozzy had died pretty much because of the Covid vaccine. This fella has 4 million followers who probably believe all this stuff, which then gets spread far and wide. Barmy.

Thousands have died from the Covid vaccine. It’s well documented and accepted.

Here’s just a snippet

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) reported that 11 448 people have died in the EU following COVID-19 vaccines[1],

8 368 following Pfizer BioNTech vaccinations (which is 1 345 more deaths in 2022).

1 579 following AstraZeneca vaccinations.

1 161 following Moderna vaccinations.

339 following Janssen vaccinations.

1 following Nuvaxovid vaccinations.
