For all we know, death may be the good bit and life the shit bit we have to endure.

Vaguely related, and mildly annoying: I sat through a talk this week where the presenter used the red pill / blue pill meme to try and prove his point. Now here's the nerdy mild annoyance; he said to take the red pill and stay as things are, or take the blue pill and he'd show the "real" alternative.

Just reading that Mark Drakeford, Welsh First Minister, is bringing a max 20mph limit throughout Wales. I’m presuming that is limited to towns and cities. Cannot understand the reasons why. Safety? Emissions? Protecting the roads from heavier EVs?

Weird whatever.

Also our fantastic MPs and the wonderful House of Lords are pressing for motorists to be fined even if they break speed limits by 1mph.

Really hate the motorists now. Cash cows.

Does that mean there won't be any tolerance as I thought they allowed a couple of miles per hour over.

I always thought it was 10% but I may have made that up. Are speedometers that accurate?

A good point are speedometers accurate as they don't get calibrated!

Apparently, it’s a change from 30mph limits to 20mph.

So that’s virtually 80mph on the motorways - which is about what most people do.

it's at the discretion of the force.

10% + 2 is usual but it could be 0%. Though they have to surely have some tolerance given Speedo are uncalibrated (though usually read over)
