That was an unexpectedly acerbic reaction!
I apologise if I caused any offence but I find it strange that anyone reads anything that's, you know.. cool with bigotry. I certainly don't base all my life opinions on any publication, including the Guardian.
You accuse someone of reading the Mail for pleasure or informative reasons you pays the consequences...  Wink

The Mail is a veritable goldmine to understanding the psychology of much of the nation... Certainly provides an insight into the cockwombleness of many, although still doesn't help me understand the hotbed of racism and xenophobia that infiltrates much of small town Oxfordshire where I went to school (as evidenced via regular unfortunate links to Britain First posts on Facebook)?

FWIW I still wonder whether the popularity of the Mail has much to do with the fact that there website actually works (unlike the Independent one) and if you Google any news story the Mail always comes at the top?

HMRC and specifically the on-line self assessment system... Not had to use it for 10ish years but will need to use for 15-16 tax year. Trying to get re-registered is bloody painful especially as I have lost certain details! Thank God I have done this in plenty of time!
thanks for the heads up, also have to re register. isn't September the deadline? better do it before I forget!

Oh, I certainly empathise with that. I read a lot of stuff I hate. I just can't bring myself to 'support' them in anyway. I'll use donotlink.com, or something.

You're right about it working. I've not tried it, but a lot of the reviews of the app mention that it's the only one that works.

If you have still got your UTR and ID you will be fine.... I have lost both so it's been (being) hard work... In terms of the UTR if you need it confirming prepare yourself for an absolute age on hold... 30 mins plus!

Still an arse ache. I registered 6 weeks ago, got a letter with my activation code yesterday, now I need another one, which will be sent by...letter. Its like having monster truck wheels on the front of the car and roller skate wheels on the back.

People can't tell if you ignore them on this forum can they?
Cos I usually use it on my phone and I press that button accidentally all the time.
I don't want random people to think I've got a problem with them when I've not even ignored Ironside yet
