My 3 year old seems quite appreciative of it given it is the only place his single widowed father can afford to take him

Not that I don't believe you but I always thought going to Butlins was more expensive than going abroad? I'm sure I checked a week at Butlins price wise and it was about 2k!

And I apologise if I caused offence, had a few beers last night.

Butlins works out ok for small parties going for very short breaks.  once you go for big family getaways for a week it starts to become relatively expensive when compared to a week in the sun at a budget resort.

Got sucked in to a neighbours dispute this morning.

We have a courtyard behind our houses where we have 1 designated parking spot each marked with the house number. There is also a number of spaces with no marking. These are communal spots for visitors or 1st come 1st serve for 2nd cars. One of the house owners has one of these communal spaces right out side her house and uses it on a daily basis, fair enough. I go to my car this morning and see said neighbour having an exchange with someone who parked in the space. She was claiming that although not marked, this space belonged to her house. I politely tried to defuse the situation by pointing out that it was indeed a communal space an did not belong to any one. She wasn't having any of it. I even got the deeds of my house and showed here the development plan where that it was clearly stated said space was a communal space but she still wasn't having any of it the daft cow.

The far side of the moom is sometime known as the "dark" side of the moon, although both sides have two weeks of sunlight followed by two weeks of night.

I like the Pink Floyd explanation

"There is no dark side of the moon, really. Matter of fact, it's all dark"
