Dr Who. It has really gone down the shitter and this X Mas special was bollox. Cybermen and Daleks, what could go wrong. A fucking useless script thats what. I used to love it but its been shit since the latter Tennant days. I saw an old tom Baker one recently - pure class.

Xmas Who was a confused 'chuck everything in, barincluding the kitchen sink' episode. The regeneration fudge was never going to be easy, but the explanation was rushed and disappointing.

I thought it was bollocks. The whole will he/won't he regenerate thing was daft as we already know that he would and then the time lords suddenly decide to pack up and go home before saving the Doctor on their way out.
It's a shame as it was a little bit of a disappointing end for Matt Smith, especially after the 50th anniversary special.

Don't worry. He only had a cameo this time around, but Peter Capaldi has the potential to be one of the greats. And I'm pleased he hasn't been asked to hide the Scottish accent like David Tennant did. I suppose it's been good for the last three Doctors to be younger - bringing back the younger audience after some time away - but Capaldi will bring some gravitas that they could never have.
My boys are getting to an age where I can see that this is going to be required Saturday evening viewing (so long as it doesn't go out before we manage to get back from Swindon from home games).

I think Matt Smith has been brilliant and people will appreciate him in the long run. A bit like Colin Baker, I guess.
Very much looking forward to seeing Capaldi in action.

Yes, shame that he didn't go in the 50th. Would have been good for Tom Baker to have led him away to regenerate.

The only good thing about Dr who are the end credits as this gives me optimism that something decent may then be coming on. Oh, and the fit birds in it at least make me think of sex for a bit.

Matt Smith has done well with shit material (as far as trying to be a good Doctor is concerned-he wasn't shit, but he was a bit samey after Tennant). Peter Capaldi is going to be brilliant. He's already been arguing over scripts being shit apparently, which is only a good thing. There's been too much Deus ex Machina all the time, and the end of every season has alwasy been about time and space exploding and the Doctor being the only person who can stop it. Steven Moffat and Matt Smith's reigns have unfortunately so far been full of confusing, nonsensical stories with plot holes wider than Johnny Vegas' arse.
I miss Christopher Ecclestone. He'd have been fantastic in the 50th Anniversary episode instead of John Hurt (not that John Hurt was bad of course).

Also agree. It's always expensive and is never as fun as you'd hoped.
I have no plans tonight and hope it remains that way.
