Paying £10 to scan.co.uk for next day delivery only to get an email 24 hours afterwards saying that because of "excessive demand in the warehouse" they canot deliver for 2 to 3 days, fucking wankers, I want a refund of my postage as well as costs but customer service fobs me off...I will never use them again.

Getting saver delivery on an item from domu.co.uk. item not arrived which even given the snow is not a bit slow. Rang up to check all is ell,  put down* to missing postcode on delivery address, yet on double checking their website later you can't check out without entering a postcode.

* I say put down to, more "why didn't you contact us earlier", "it'll be because you didn't enter a postcode"...."yeah yeah found it now on the system, that's what it is, its coming back to us because of the incorrect address"..."yeah I've sorted it now...".

Its clearly marked with company name, FULL address, town an county, plus they have my phone number. Got the feeling it was a fob off anyway - tell him something that makes it not our fault and make him go away.

Sorry for the inconvenience of buying something from you. -

Threaten them with Sale of Goods Act (you've esstenially paid for a service that they've been unable to provide) and the the Small Claims Court. Normally (but not always) works.

Worth a go mate I have run off another slightly snotty email to customer services and await a reply.

It wasn't a massive order but was over £600 so not a little one either.

Last time I will ever use them, I have ordered 4 times with them and every time it has been delayed or arrived faulty.

Royal mail gets knocked, but things like your problem will be the norm if it gets privatized. The private delivery firms seem to be useless and expensive.
The worst you get from the postal service is having to fetch a parcel now and then.

Talking of fetching a parcel from Royal Mail, the collection point at Hawksworth annoys me. Serving the entire town centre and Old Town, yet there are only 2 parking spaces and never has enough staff on.

Enforced cutbacks, not the fault of the people working there. Its being prepared for sale by the government.

Remember the days when there were 2 main post offices in town and twice daily deliveries. Like the Tories destruction of public services etc,The Royal mail is getting taken backwards too.
