She was drunk and drugged up, while tragic it's completely her own fault. My mum does the same job and works a lot of late shifts, could quite easily happen on one of her trains so it annoys me a lot.

Oh yes, she completely deserved to die because she was blindo.

Let's just hope you remember your stance should anything hapen to you in a similar state.

If that happened to me it would completely my own doing as well. If the train guard had been doing jagerbomb rounds with her half an hour before then maybe he could be held accountable.

We should get Derek Acorah to ask her if she thinks it's her own fault. Although she probably wouldn't remember but I bet she knows she had a fucking brilliant time.

Very very far from trivial, but FFS:

There's a petition to get his sentence reviewed, not sure how much good it will do but I guess every little helps:

That is absolutely disgusting! What a betrayal by the mod after what he's given them and our country. Yes he maybe shouldn't have had the pistol but, when looking at the chain of events, how they couldn't have dealt with it differently and taken into account his service to them is beyond belief! There has to be more to this than that story suggests, that's fucking lunacy.

I don't understand that at all and I don't buy it tbh - I said exactly the same about Lance Armstrong althought the context is very different.

If you KNOW you are innocent why would you plead guilty? Forget limiting the damage, burdon of proof etc. I just don't belive that.

Was backing out of a parking space this morning and backed into another car that had just been "abandoned" against a wall as he couldn't find a space. My fault for not seeing him but to be honest he shouldn't have been there.

As I couldn't just stop I went to find another space so I could come back and leave my number. When I got back he was just driving off and didn't get to give him my details.

Feel guilty as in hindsight I could've gone back into my space and stopped the person waiting for mine from having it, but in the panic of the moment I didn't think straight. I reported it at the local police station and gave them my details.

Still feel really bad about it.

(According to his missus on the radio this morning) He was told to plead quilty by the military judge trying his case, and as added persuasion was given to understand if he copped a plea, he'd get a non-custodial/suspended sentence, whereas if he didn't and was found guilty (which the judge was telling him he would be) he'd do 5 years. And he's got two kids, that makes it a no-brainer. While you might be prepared to do the moral high ground bit and risk the time yourself, when you've got kids to consider it's a whole different question. I'd do exactly the same in his shoes.

At times they don't fuck me off - although I struggle to recall those times. Smiley

To be honest, market or no market, the Whale Bridge "junction" has helped to ensure I won't be going near the town centre in the near future.

I ask you then, Mr D, if you were thinking of your children, why would you willingly consign yourself to prison for something you didn't do?
