Hopefully there'll be no need to abuse our own fans though! It's a nice big away end with amazing acoustics. Charlton fans have been moaning for some time that it's given to away fans, and the only reason the club haven't changed it is due to practicalities. Hopefully we can use it to our advantage!

Sounded pretty good on TV.

OST - Always interested to see how the atmosphere came across on the TV.
I thought the Swindon support did well last night and to be honest Charlton were very quiet. They have been moaning about the open Bank however that didn't appear to put off Leeds.

I thought the Leeds atmosphere was better although last night was buzzing as well.

So it came across loud did it ?

Although they had the corner of the Arkells as well, which helps.

Agree that the Charlton fans were quiet though - the last team I remember having just the Bank was Brighton in the 2004 play-offs, and they made a lot more noise. Effeminate noise, admittedly, but noise all the same.

But the DRS was shit for singing tonight. Me and my 2 mates tried our hearts out to start songs and got no help at all. Anytime someone else started a song we got involved. We are supposed to be a team, united in voice, but I came way from tonights win dissapointed.

were you sat/stood just along from whits

Open stands aren't good for acoustics, but it helps if the people occupying it bother to sing.

It was deafening when the teams came out, call those happy clappy banner things what you may but I don't think I've ever heard the County Ground that loud. Also a nice rendition of Swindon Til I die before the teams came out that apparently sounded quality on the TV. It was nice to see a packed County Ground really getting behind the team, shame it happens about once a decade.

8 years ago I'd have bloody hated the idea of the happy clappers. However I am still buzzing off how much my 7 year old enjoyed last night, she has been to around half a dozen home games this season (around the same last season) plus 3 away. Last night was the first time that she was never bored (most of us accept that all games allways have dull bits - I've been to several where the dull bits last about 90 minutes!). I think she felt that she was actively contributing to the atmosphere and didn't feel out of place as everyone else was doing the same - I've watched her trying to keep up with some of the songs at the away games!

Anyway 8 years on, even if I didn't have a nipper I'd like to thik that I'd enjoy seeing so many people who wouldn't normally bother contribute to a great atmosphere.

As I do have said nipper I can't remember enjoying a game at the county ground as much as I did on friday.

I was determind not to touch them (so to speak) but ended up using the HCs.

Good idea from the club. God we really have some sensible poeple in charge at last.

Managed to get everyone to keep tempo during the Wilsons red and white army chant, even counting people in. Bless them, they got there eventually.
