Just got back.

First half we were so much better than them, to go in 1-0 down was ridiculous. If Douglas and Ward had had their shooting boots on, with a bit more luck (Greer smashing one against the bar having run though on his own) and just a little bit more directness, we would have been two or three up at the interval.

Unfortunately though, not taking advantage of the bags of posession we had and them going a goal up (looked like a foul on Sheehan) played right into their hands. I knew Colchester would be direct and not very pretty but I still rated Boothroyd as a manager. The way they played today though was a fucking embarassment. I lost count of the number of times their players went down 'injured', particularly in the second half. Every corner or free kick took an eternity for them to take (most of the ball boys mysteriously went missing) and they were generally a bunch of cheating twatting cunting bastards. Boothroyd would of course justify it by saying that they won the game but if that's what you call football Adi, you can shove it right up your fucking arse. You are a complete cunt.

I was sure at half time that we would turn it round as Colchester just did not look like a play off team but the second goal killed us. It was a great strike (Douglas and Ward take note) but after that you just knew it would't be our day. Pericard and Nouble were about as effective as I would have been when they came on.

Still, lots of twists and turns to come and I suspect Wilson was right when he said it would go to the last day. I really don't want that to happen though.

We were brilliant in the first, Wardy and Dougie in particular. However, in the second it seemed that we had nothing in midfield, Billy and Charlie werent getting any service and I dont think we utilised JPM and Wardy like we do usually, they were generally in acres of space but we seemed to want to play hoof ball after the second went it. Nouble should have come on sooner to mix it up a little, as Charlie was having a quiet game. However, DW bought on Pericard who did the sum total of fuck all...I am starting to think that he was a waste of money.

Cheers for that...been out all day and shocked at the score...cheered up by the fact we will be second again monday evening...Wall at Yeovil and Leeds at Carlisle tuesday are real toughys for both.
Win v Walsall as well....Leeds at Gills and think Millwall play at Hudds so this time next week we will have an idea of our chances.

Good summary. I still can't quite believe we lost that game 3-0, to a team that looked completely fucking clueless. I was sat next to 2 neutrals who are doing the 92 grounds (and what a horrible, soul-less concrete block of a ground in the middle of bloody nowhere it is), who decided to come in the away end as they thought there'd be more atmosphere (although we were pretty quiet today, I thought). As they said at the end, we're a far better team than them, played much better football and created the better chances, but it just wasn't our day today.

Move on and concentrate on Monday night.

Is 5 minutes the maximum added time because every time there was a challenge in the second half their players took at least 3 minutes to fucking get up, I reckon about 15 would have been right!Forget Gillingscum away-this WAS a freak result,we were so much better than them it was unreal.Never again will Charlie Charlie miss a chance like that and Wardy could and should have had a hat-trick.Greer's was a tremendous effort and Sheehan hit a cracker in the second half, well saved, even at the death Pericard had a header brilliantly saved.JP MOTM for me today,Dougie not as authoritative as usual.Paynter and Austin not their usual selves,Im a bit worried about their tiredness on Monday cos if we have to rely on Vince and Frank,we're in trouble.First 30 minutes I thought we would win comfortably.I hate that fucking ground!

We took the piss out of them first half, created so many chances but didnt put it away, ward could have and should have had a hat trick, austin missed a sitter and greer hit the bar.

The goal they scored should have been a foul, the colu bloke basically falce palmed sheehan off the ball as in a rugby palm off, i wasnt worried when they scored as i just presumed i had missed the refs whistle. twat.

Second half as it went on we started chasing the game and started to lose our shape. Would have no worries facing this lot again in playoffs, they really are shit and on another day we would have put 5 or 6 past them.
