More than happy with a 3-0 win to seal 6 pts from the Easter weekend without getting out of second gear. Savage must be one of the most hilariously bad forwards I've seen in a long time. And having skimmed the last couple of pages, whoever said "Is Nouble the new Hutchinson" (saw it, but can't be bothered to go back and find it) is a tit.

Looking at the run ins for Leeds and Millwall, we need Huddersfield to take points from Millwall, and Charlton from Leeds.

How ironic would it be if a Rovers getting a result at Elland Road on the last day sorted us out....?!

What an odd game today was. We looked comfortable without the front two being their normal imposing self. Then they score an own goal, and the lino gives a penalty and sending off for Huh? and the game is over. Nice take by Austin for the third too then it was a training ground match.

I have just about started to believe we will make the playoffs now. To be in the automatic places hunt is unreal. Long may it continue.

Agreed, good post. Let's hope common sense prevails..

If the weathers nice it's a great place to be, can remember being in that end one year think it was against Leicester, anyhow Kevin Poole was in goal for them and think it was 0-0 or 1-1 and the sun was out, fantastic, but my memory ain't so great.

Angry shouty man hysterical, tho the San Miguel could be the reason I find it so funny

I cant remember a more routine win, and the fact that no one got out of second gear can only be good thing with 4 games in 9 days

Ideal game after the Leeds high...we've now reached the magic 40 games and the PO's is mor or less certain...for the next 4 after Norwich. Bit surprised that Charlton have managed to regroup.  Udders have a big pressure game tomorrow....lose and they open the way for possibly Soton and Rovers.

2nd could now go to any one of the 4.

Absolutely the perfect game! I'd settle for another 6 of those dull easy victories!

Charlton have hardly had a mention recently, but in truth they are just as dangerous as Milwall, and possibly more so than Leeds in the automatic chase.

Regarless of what we do (which is all that counts) there are some interesting games coming up amongst the top 6

Possibly the worst game of football I've seen this season. The sending off and penalty / 2nd goal totally killed the game off and for some reason seemed to take the atmosphere out of the ground as well - it was like a morgue after that. In the 2nd half we weren't that bothered about scoring any more and were happy playing keep ball while Tranmere looked like they had far better things to do with their time. If we lose out on goal difference at the end of the season it will be due to games like this that we should have won by 5 or more goals but failed to finish the job off properly.

Having said that, it was another perfect professional display and we're back to 2nd so good times. But its just weird, having gone to the Leeds game and been on top of the world ever since, having gone today I now feel a bit meh.

Very disappointing to not get over 10k at the game. Though I'm sure it was partly due to the win at Leeds and ending up 2nd surprising a lot of people and with it being a bank holiday weekend they didn't have much of a chance to get their arse in gear to get to the game. Pity our next game is live on TV as that means another crap attendance.

A 3-0 win can't possibly be the worst game of the season

Charlton have a very experienced squad and Shelvey only came back into their starting eleven today.

Saints vs Charlton at St.Mary's next saturday could be very interesting.
