Why would Paynter go to Leeds?
Closer to his family and £££££

Would it be more £££££ though? I assume we must have offered Douglas more money than Leeds did.

Leeds are a super massive club. They are much too big for this division and have a divine right to be in the Premier League....

Can't see Paynter leaving us for Leeds. Here he is playing regular 1st team football. He won't get that at Leeds as soon as he goes through a dry patch of scoring.
Plus who'd want a bunch of 30,000 + miserable northern gravy drinking wankers on his back moaning all the time?
WACCOE will say he's not good enough for Leeds FACT!!
Haven't you heard? It's officially called Wanko on here now.

I can understand why Billy would go to Leeds but i'd be dissapointed if he went to them and we were playing at a higher level next season.

you're all speculating this on a 30-word story from the sun? The fact he hasn't signed an extension yet means nothing.

The fact that it was the Sun probably makes it less likely than before, no?

Paynter will go. Someone in the championship (or Leeds) will offer him the same or better wages than us, and he'll pick up a signing on bonus as well. Good luck to the bloke - he's had his 'golden' season, and needs to cash in while the going's good.
I'd be astounded if he was still with us next season.

Paynter will be a Swindon player next season playing in the Championship.
Why would he want to play in the 3rd Division for Leeds?

I think that if we lose Paynter we'll have Cox on loan next season. I know i said that earlier in the thread, but that would be seriously sweet. I also think Austin and Cox would be seriously prolific as they'd compliment each other so well.

And this is the thing Ralph. Until it's known what league we're going to be in it's too early to even speculate on such things. If we do go up, I think there's a very good chance that none of our players will be going anywhere.

If I remember rightly, Mr Fitton was on the radio and said that he prefered to come to us as we offered him longer terms than Lidls Utd did, but I would imagine that we didn't offer as much as they were offering him for a 1 year deal.
