It was Ferry who hit Billy from six yards. Yes Ward did nothing first half- bar two or three dreadful touches. But then second half he came into it and put in one glorious cross. I'm not attacking Lescinel anyway, I was defending Greer.

evening all.disapointed at the result but not the performance.today was very similar to last week,as we were superb first half let the opposition back into it and end up drawing.
still, just like last week there are plenty of positives.
we have a good team now, and played some really nice football in the firts 35 mins or so.
amankwaa and jpm were awesome first half and ferry pulled the strings in the middle.nearly all the others all did their jobs well.
we could have gone 2 up, and on another day we would have.ward was anonomous and struggled to get in the game(he improved second half)
tail end of the half they came back into it and second half was pretty even, and a tad direct from both teams.not pretty.

no doubt jfl will be this weeks scapegoat(smith was last week)but he did ok overall.dunno why he wasn't near the man for their goal, and will need to see the goal on tv to know if he was at fault.but his sister is missing, and the team in general became sloppy so can't be to harsh on the lad.

toss up between ferry, greer and mank for mom i reckon.
i thought ferry's use of the ball was superb exept when near goal(1 cracking long range effort though to be fair)
greer was a proper trojan today and i thought he superb.put his body on the line time and time again.
mank was up and down and got a goal.very good show from him.
i thought the side tired quite alot and a change in the middle could have been done.2 weeks on the trot austin gets subbed when infront and we end up drawing.
for me maclin could have done more running.he came on for a few mins and should have busted a gut,but didn't.
anyway, a point against one of the better sides so never mind.

I think i was at a different match today. The first 30 minutes we slaughtered them and should have been ahead. Apart from Shelvey Charlton were a bunch of cheating, diving, whinging bastards who got away with a lot of shit because the referee was a complete incompetent. How the lad never got a yellow for the challenge on Greer is beyond me.
For me, Greer was the MOM. He put in some superb challenges as did Cuthbert. Ferry and Douglas were great first half but went missing in the 2nd - allowing Charlton to piss thruogh the midfield unchallenged where the back 4 did really well.
Manky and JPM also played really well. Manky took his goal like a striker.
From what I can remember they had 1 shot on target which went in and Lucas might as well have got his deckchair out.
Charlton were shit and this is very much 2 points lost.

I think that was Ferry.

Well then Ferry is a twat. The whole fucking goal to aim at and he hits a Swindon player. Twat.

That miss cost us as we were well on top at the time and could have gone on to win easily from there.

he goes to peices infront of goal, but had a cracking game overall.if he had goals in his game he'd be in celtics side

Most that has to be said has been said already, so will just add a few peripheral points
3 points...

anyone else who says "we would have lost that game last season", either on here or by text, ffs move on, that is a boring out of date comment.

I recall people saying this about charlton at the valley, but fuck me what a whinging load of fucks. Every foul against them , arms in the air.

For those not at the game dissapointed about the last minute goal, charlton had a lot of pressure last 10, it was coming.

Agree with most of everything already written, just think that our free-scoring and much vaunted attack had a bit of an off day, nobody was bad, just didn't seem to be on top of their game as they usually are.  The body language from the front two was poor today and they looked very frustrated at times.  I actually though Cuthbert was outstanding today, very solid and cultured.  Why, oh why, does Greer have to give those stupid free kicks away, the one in the left back position was plain stupid but overall thought he had a decent game.  The only down side today was Lecs distribution.

I thought Douglas disappeared in the last 15 minutes. Sometimes you have to assume that the opposition are going to throw the kitchen sink at it, and it's not a voluntary dropping back and defending.

We had enough chances to win it in the first half. And I thought it was Greer who hit the bar, not Douglas

Today made me realise how thin the squad is. With the exception of Morrison and Pericard (and perhaps, in time, O'Brien) I don't get the sense that we've got first team calibre players on the bench.

We certainly don't have players who can come on and change a game. Macklin got in four great positions in the first five minutes he was on and looked like a rabbit in the headlights each time.

Our first eleven rocks, but we're a team not a squad.

I thought we looked as good as ever when we played the ball on the deck. The periods when Charlton got into the game were when we played the head-tennis routine which suited them.

Agree that Austin and Paynter didn't seem to click today, but as good as our midfielders are at times, they didn't give the front lads that much in the way of guilt edge service.

Austin looked deeply disturbed when he dragged his shot wide. The look on his face was one of complete fucking shock, almost as if that's the first time he's not got a shot on target. He was pretty ordinary after that and I think Wilson may of swapped him for Pericard a lot earlier than he did Macklin, had he been fit. All part of his massive learning curve though.

Paynter reverted to type today. A coincidence that Austin was off his game?

Macklin looks like he has potential but badly needs 1st team experience. I'd fuck him off on loan for a couple of months in the hope that he'd come back a much better player towards the end of season run in.

If we keep playing our own game for 90 minutes, on the floor, like we did against Leeds, we'll be OK.

Squad is still paper thin though. I'll be well fucked off if we went into decline after one or two injuries or suspensions. Marshal, Macklin etc aint good enough for a promiotion chasing side.

same as before but with my addition of vitriol aimed at a spastic ref and his assistants who managed to re-write rules and stop the game for no discernable foul or genuine foul alike. i found it frustrating both were treated the same way ie-no booking

interesting points all round.

Lecs was out of position for the goal As wilson said some players were going forward when they shouldn't However I thought he was excellent otherwise

shit happens.

thought we were excellent. so solid at the back bar the goal, greer was just immense. Ferry superb in the middle with JPM

Doulglas still good perhaps although not as commanding as in recent weeks. Ward also quiet but he's young and still learning.

Not gonna complain too much. I was pig sick at the final whistle but on reflection another ace peformance. Some times you get the breaks - others you don't.

We were superb again today. Keep playing like that and we'll defo make the play-offs.

Onwards and upwards. After Huddersfield we have a good run of very winnable games.

Just think: we're gutted after drawing with charlton.Shows how far we've come. No?

Good point, Juddie.

We're all fucked off because we didn't dick a top side like Charlton. Shows exactly how far we've come under Fitton and Wilson.

The cunts need to keep it up though. They've set the bar high. No letting up now Wink
