Hopefully we will play Leeds right in the middle of their inevitable bad patch every team has one and theirs had to come sooner or later.

draw with Wycombe, defeat to Exeter, defeat to Carlisle and a game against Spurs on Saturday.

Nows the time to play them - bet they wish they hadnt called it off the first time.

The first day of the season was pretty shambolic...

In an idle moment, I did a quick 'back of the envelope' calculation to work out what we would need to do to secure promotion.  The answer is approx 2.4 points/game for automatic promotion and 1.6 points/game for a play off place.

Over the last 5 seasons the average points for 2nd and 6th are 85 and 74 respectively.

So 30 points or 10 wins from our last 22 games could be enough for the play offs.

We've got 25 points from our last 10 games.

We had that spell in October as well where we didn't really play all that great and lost a few games when Douglas was suspended. Not so much a real bad patch but certainly performances that haven't matched recent ones. It's certainly been our most consistant season in a long time.

For scoring a penalty? Don't break the wage structure for him!

I'm quite surprised at the size of the crowd at the Cardiff v Bristol City game = 6,731.

The pitch whilst poor was not actually as bad as I thought it would be. In fact could have done with some rain on it as it was sticky if anything.

We tried to play a lot of football but were outdone by the pitch. Make no mistake this was a great result, considering that they had 5 new players who were certainly up for it. Perkins best player on the pitch in the 1st half.

where as the play offs are looking definitely possible.  This is exciting.  I would expect our crowds to start rising soon.

FFS, now you've done it. Couldn't you've touched wood or something?

Surprised that Perkins hasn't done better clubwise, always looks decent.

Quote from a Stockport forum, they seem to be quite a philosphical bunch

I thought Swindon were a typical Danny Wilson side. Big, strong, well organised and functional. A good no frills side. Against most other teams we'd have stopped the rot today.

First venture into the MDT today with good purpose

I was quite worried actually. Out of the 5 signings, they have signed a couple of good players. Couple that with the pitch and the fact that they didnt play on Saturday and we did, concerned me.

Edgy display and a difficult game.

Going to shitty places like that on a horrible Tuesday night and getting a scrappy result and 3 points, even though we may not have deserved it, is what a good team is all about.

I salute Danny and the lads
