The good thnig is the intelligence we play with. If a pass doesn't come off you can see what they were trying to do.
One thing that stood out for me from the Trust Q&A that Wilson did just before the start of the season was that when he was discussing the players he'd let go, and why so few replacements had come in at that point, he explained that he was not prepared to employ "thick" players who couldn't take in what they were told on the training pitch and so reverted to unsophisticated type every Saturday. We've had a shedload of them under recent managers, but the emphasis on ball retention and the general intelligence of the team today is a joy to behold. Nice one, Danny.

Best thing I can say is in his first year Wilson has done so much better than I ever expected.

I reckon next season will be even more interesting as by then all of the squad will be players he's signed or given contract extensions to. There's still a few under contract from Malpas's reign which I'm guessing will be shown the door in the summer - Casal and Aljofree spring to mind, is there any more? Probably Peacock?
A few players doesn't sound like much, but it would mean he could potentially bring in another Cuthbert, Austin, Douglas etc. And if he improves the team the same as he did this summer, then surely the playoffs or even a top two will be in sight?

Certainly- you've got to imagine Aljofree and Peacock are amongst the better paid players at the club as well.
