I'd better set my alarm now before I forget.

Cheers

Anyone know what the area is like near Swindon Hospital? Got to go there early in the morning.
Some snow, not much, quite icy under foot. Roads are fine

<sigh Si>

I'm sure black people still call whites 'honkeys' or worse. And I bet you also call the Welsh 'sheep shaggers' even though you are amongst them now. 'Jocks'? 'Taffs'? 'Pakis'? Get a grip.

Honkeys? Very 1970s.  We're called spooks now.  I like it.

I also like being called a limey by the yanks but then again, I'm at peace with my Englishness and feel no middle class need to apologise for it

There's a road and a couple of trees, not many shops though.

Had to ditch my car last night and shimmy down a 45 degree hill in my flat-soled slip on shoes. Talk about being caught short!! Bloody humiliating!

Managed to rescure the motor this morning but think the clutch is all but shot. Only now do I understand why my old Dad's morbid hatred of snow.

I slid on the ice tonight and wrote off my car, as well as crashing into a stationery car (no one was hurt). Merry Christmas.

Shit Sad Shame the car was written off, but that's what insurance is for (I hope you're fully comp?).

As long as no one was hurt, that's the most important thing.

What a crapper IBIMR.

My ABS and traction control went a bit mental this morning, on seemingly clear roads.

I am fully comp, thankfully. One of the most annoying things was that I hadn't realised my glasses had come off my face, so when I got out of the car and shut the door, I smashed them into bits. Glad I keep a spare pair now.

Sorry about your car, but if you're ok then that's the most important thing.

I had a scary drive home down the Fosse tonight. Temperature hovering at -1 deg C and all the salt rained off the roads. Loads of slush with fresh snow on top between Moreton and Stow.

I fucking hate this weather.

Glad you are OK IBIMR, cars can always be replaced.

It is (or was) horrible out there with the rain freezing on top of the snow earlier. Tried to get up the slope to my house and it was either wheelspin (without TC) or spaz traction control.
