Wife drove home from Gosport yesterday, left at 2pm arrived home at 11.30pm - 9.5 hours. She luckily got off the M3 near Basingstoke at 3pm. 2,000 cars were abandoned in Basingstoke last night. Reading was a total grid lock as well my daughter had to abandon her car and walk to a friends, bus routes closed and many trains cancelled.
The good samaritans in Aborfield who were by the road side pushing cars up hill and serving piping hot tea and coffee to stranded motorists. Well played lads.

Not suprised about Basingstoke. It once took me 2 hours to make what is normally a 10 minute trip in Basingstoke, and that was for < 1cm snow.
I liked the Wycombe John Lewis letting people sleep in their display beds for the night,

It doesn't look good. -2 and freezing fog all the way to Warwick. I think I will leave it a while.
I left at about 9:15 and apart from some not-too-bad fog to Moreton it was ok. Bugger all snow up here in Warwick, they couldn't believe that I was snowed and iced in yesterday. I'm staying over tonight, just hope it isn't freezing fog on the way back tomorrow night. The forecast looks like rain  |
