But Newcastle are a big club, and big clubs always go straight back up. Without fail. Everybody knows that.

Newcastle aren't just a big club, though, they're a MASSIVE club. Like Leeds. Except more massive, almost as massive as the known universe. Ohh, and passionate. So passionate the word passion isn't massive enough to express the massive extent of the passionate passion. Like Leeds. And they have the best fans in the world, because they cry on cue for the Sky cameras. So they'll plummet like a stone. Like Leeds

Hahaha you are all so media driven At the ground today (my good lady wanted to go down and see the memorial) I heard more than a couple of Geordies complain say things along the lines of... "they always interview the idiots...." Also, on Friday I heard one of those idiots turn down an interview with Channel 5 because it wasn't Sky Sports... I wonder whether he has contractual obligations?

I think they interview a lot of eloquent, well mannered, intelligent people but they don't make good viewing hence the 'tards are the ones that get on TV!

Saw Rod Liddle (milwall fan) in his times column today has us as dark horses for the year on account of our good signings and stability. Never thought people would talk about us as stable!

If we become stable and successful, many of us would become confused and conflicted and probably need professional help.

Huddersfield for me are a great bet for going up this season, at 14/1 definitely worth a punt. Leeds will huff and puff but fall short again. Charlton are not ready to go straight up, but Norwich will be there. Southampton with all their backers and hopes could be a surprised package for relegation - I hope not. Downers - Wycombe definitely, straight back down where you belong.

I wonder whether he has contractual obligations? Not disputing that the majority of Toon fans interviewed on the media are idiots, but I don't think it's just a media fantasy to suggest that Newcastle are royally in the shit at the moment, and that they do indeed think they're a massive club a la Leeds. Which in fairness, they are a pretty big club

No one anywhere questions the amusing mess Newcastle are in.
The whole "big club" thing is a messy argument... Especially when teams like Newcastle, who haven't won anything significant since 1969, have played Champions League football this decade.
You can easily argue for and against.
On Friday there were messages on memories wishing Ashley was dead and not Robson... Which is OTT in any situation.
They weren't there today!

I'd go Norwich to win our league. I don't fancy Charlton or Soton - not even for the play offs. I think Leeds are getting their act together but I'd go for Colchester in 2nd. Exeter will do well. As for us, mid table obscurity beckons - and that will do for me. Hopefully, a little cup run and lets see if Macklin, Kennedy or Thomspon can make the grade while Morrison becomes our big sale in the Summer. As for Newcastle, they'll struggle. They are in freefall. Also are their sT sales realy 25k - if so I rthink Norwich's 18k plus is more impressive.
