As someone else pointed out. Exhibit A: Newcastle United. Support and opinion/belief/love amongst supporters does little for winning.
Besides, imo it's not football passion that makes those sides the way they are, it's their passion for cunty sectarian bigotry and religious hatred. For that reason alone, I hate those clubs and hope they NEVER set foot in the premiership (at least until they can grow up and act like adults). There's no place for religion in football.
There is though isnt there. End of the day, these two clubs represent their communities. To be honest hey have exagerated a divide, but its nothing to be scared of. Football clubs should represent sections of society. It gives it the extra edge. Modern football is happy to dumb football down to XI vs XI. Fuck that. I wish all football was as mental as the Old Firm. Glasgow is different to northern Ireland. There is a lot of respect between the two clubs inspite of all the vitriol. There are some good video's on youtube about the 96-98 seasons if you dont know a lot about Scottish League football.

isn't the SPL the equivalent to the championship?
i think teams like Falkirk and St Mirren would struggle in League 1, but there's no fact to this opinion

It will be a struggle to pen a decent terrace chant for Scott Cuthbert.
Having said that ...bert does rhyme with Shirt so there is something for you to work with.

How about a Trumpton style roll call with the players names instead, followed by a duh-duh-da-da-da-duh etc? I tried working it out but couldn't. You need three players with single syllable names and four with two syllables, then you have to hope it sounds ok. Would be useful if we had two players with the same name as well.

Shame we didn't get Charlie Mulgrew as that would fit before Cuthbert perfectly...I'll see what I can do.

This is the best I've come up with, doesn't quite have the same ring to it and I've drawn a blank for the last player: Smith, Greer, Amank-Ka-Waah, Cuthbert, Timlin ?

What a miserable chant that would be... Then again, I'm thinking of the Johnny Cash version.

The Trumpton roll call always came to mind when I read the starting line-ups in 06/07, as it invariably began 'Smith, Smith, Ifil..." and sort of tailed off from there.
