And then caught off a no ball from a medium pacer. Hopefully they're using up their luck now before Headlingley.

Wouldn't mind seeing Jonathan Trott getting the nod in a straight Saffer swap, but it will be Bell, the only question is whether he goes in at 4 or they jiggle the batting lineup around.

Oh, well done me. One test too early though. Been called up along with Sidebottom, while Monty drops out. Will be interesting to see if they decide to pick him over R-Bop.

Trott is averaging 92 in the County Championship at the moment, you can see why he's next in line, but it's a shame we didn't give people like him, Denly and my man James Hildreth a game against the Windies back in May.

Yeah i'm not denying Trott is good. He clearly is. Would just like to see some younger English talent come through. Denly was one of the highest run scorers last summer and he scored a century for The Lions against the Aussies before the 1st Test.

Denly is a young talented batsman, but it would be very unfair to throw him in at the deep end
in the middle of an Ashes series.Remember what happened to the young Somerset batsman
Mark Lathwell? Probably be better to try Denly in the 1 day series.

Concerns were raised during the third Test at Edgbaston when Australia captain Ricky Ponting was booed.

^^ Poor Old Ricky getting booed!

Interestingly Trott's former coach at Warwickshire is now one of the main selectors for England: Ashley Giles.

He does seem to be in some form though so you can't argue against it too much.

Also, Sidebottom used to play for Yorkshire so I would say he is nailed on to play the 4th test, in place of SCJ Broad.
