Agreed...i also think that last record partnership between Anderson and Onions(50 odd?) was really important...it just gave us the edge after the Aussies had bowled well untill that last partnership....Anderson is a top bowler..a top fielder and is a competant batsmen these days, nearly in the all rounder category.

What are you talking about, should we feed them half volleys and long hops in the next test instead?
No. I was just talking in the context of that innings. The line and length bowling on Saturday was bread and butter stuff for Clarke & Haddin.

tbf anderson never really gets more than 30 does he? More of a capable tailender than an allrounder

Between Broad, Swann, Anderson and Flintoff, our tail enders are more than capable of contributing 100 or so runs.

Thats because hes been stranded at times not out..to me if he batted abit higher he may have more time and partners to get higher scores.

That is a very fair point. Swann and broad are both better with the bat though. It just goes to show how strong our tail is

Yep, if Rashid had played instead of Panesar in Cardiff, we may well have had the best tail in history.

Anderson is the nightwatchman of choice, he sometimes shows ability above 10th man level.

On the bright side, he's been well below par during the first two tests...and we've still yet to be beaten by the Aussies. He's been a bit of a passenger so far, and not the reason we took the last match, for example. Of course I'd like him fit, but I think we'll manage.

KP should've had this operation in April...but then he would've missed out on the IPL millions.

Oh dear, our weak suite just got massively weaker.
Yet more pressure on the bowlers, and on Ravi Bopara also to not give away double-figures worth of over-throws.

Well KP has been pretty shit anyway. Bring in someone like Denly or Morgan I reckon. No doubt it'll be Bell or Key in the usual list of culprits though.
