Good little knock from Prior. Shame about the run out. Hopefully Freddie will smash them for a few in his last ever test match innings at the home of cricket.

Great innings from Prior. He's turned it all back into our favour. We're looking at being at least 500 ahead by the close. I can't see the Aussies chasing down that many tbh.

Fred's having a good go. He'll be out soon, but it's nice to see him playing his own game.

311-6 RSP, a lead of 521.

I would bat on for 30 mins tomorrow to rub their noses in it.

Nah not now the rain has come. If it's going to be like this for tomorrow and Monday we may as well declare now and give ourselves as much time as possible.

Declare overnight or 20-30 mins tomorrow isn't going to make much difference, the key thing is we need it to not rain too much but be nice and cloudy so Jimmy can take them apart.

I think it's forecast light showers and overcast so we could be lucky. Of all the things to fuck us up though it will be the bloody weather and knowing our luck it will.

Hahhahahah, there's some chap on the Radio saying we should have opened the batting with Anderson and Swann.

Where do they get these people from?

The Radio 5 phone in this evening was an embarrassment.  There are far too many England supportersn with very short memories who seem to be writing the Aussies off.  Far too early for that.  They could easily put up a defensive display like we did in the last test.

The Aussies sure as hell weren't going all out to make sure all the days overs got bowled were they. It would be interesting to compare their over rate during the last hour today to the last hour of the last test, I'm guessing there was a sizeable difference. Of course, to Ponting its totally different as he wasn't on the receiving end of it.

Still, who cares - him missing a run out from two yards and missing a catch that was easier to hold on to than drop has made my day.

Cricket usually evens itself up, if the rain saves them it evens up Cardiff where the rain saved england

We've declared overnight, two rain affected days for Oz to get the highest score ever chased at Lords or 190 odd overs for England to bowl them out and win and Lords for the first time since WW2.
