Hah, Mitchell Johnson is getting absolutely farmed here.

Some of the worst bowling of the summer. Ever since he came to England he hasn't impressed me. He got tanked in th T20, smacked by the Lions in the warm up game, and he was not very good in the 1st Test also.

Everything here is going for four, even Siddle's going for a few now. Bowling stats are pretty amusing, Hilfenhaus has six maidens and something like 1.83 per over, Johnson no maidens and seven an over.

Even Ally Cook is looking dominant here.

I've only just switched on the TV to watch the cricket.

What the fuck is happening?

Who is this ENG team that batted first?

Hilfenhaus has shown that tidy bowling will do fine, it's the wayward crap that Johnson has been dealing out that's dissapearing to all areas.

That's exactly what Broad and Jimmy are capable if they have even a slightly off day...

Nathan Hauritz looks like he's dislocated his finger as well, he won't bowl again which leaves the Aussies with a three man attack including Johnson. North, Clarke and Katich are going to get a few overs i'd think.

154-0, and Hauritz has had to go off with a possible disclocated finger.

Aussies now down to three front line bowlers.

Superb start.  (As an aside, sorry for Hauritz on a personal level - I have personal experience of seeing one of my own fingers in completely the wrong shape...not pleasant - but it could swing things hugely in our favour for the rest of the series if he is out.)

There are just two things still concerning me though:

1.  The rain that's forecast for tomorrow and Sunday; and
2.  You still need to take 20 wickets to win a test and, on last week's showing, I'm not sure our bowling attack is up to it.

Michael Holding said at lunch that based on what he's seen from the two bowling attacks so far he wouldn't be suprised by a 0-0 with 5 draws. I'd be inclined to agree with him, although for the sake of the series I hope some of the bowlers on both sides step up.

167-0 now.
