This doesn't suprise me one bit. I think people/media are overly harsh on him and I imagine Ferguson feels he's picked up a bargain.
Possibly. I agree he's a very good player - it just depends if he can stay fit and if Ferguson's willing to change his approach to fit Owen in. Perhaps this is all part of reshaping the team having lost Ronaldo, to suit a new style of play? |

He only missed 11 games last season - not too bad. I saw him play a few times and yes he was poor but he was offered zero distribution.

Owen is still a great goalscorer and in a team that creates that number of chances he can't fail to get goals. Importantly i reckon playing at united and with Rooney hopefully will mean that he can get upto top form and into the England squad ahead of the world cup.
It would be a real bonus, if Owen could regain some sharpness and make the WC assuming we qualify...England aren't exactly overloaded with strikers. |
