This. People have short memories. As somebody mentioned previously if you asked him to do a man marking job on so ebody he was excellent. Often had Leon Knight & Leroy Lita in his pocket & they were two of the best strikers at our level at the time. Nathan Tyson always did a number on him though!!!!

He was a bottom end L1/top end L2 defender. Point is he's remembered fondly and wasn't slagged off constantly, unlike some of our current side who are of similar ability.

Expectations by a small minority are higher because of the Black / Di canio era and the way football has evolved in general.

Jerel's time was just about crossed over with the beginning of the rapidly developing world of social media. We now live in a world of very different values....
