I had tickets to see MeatLoaf through Ticketmaster when the old fat fucker collapsed in Newcastle - i was refunded within a day! If you buy of ebay most resellers will refund if there is a no show or cancellation. The JFW Jacko Auction sounds a fucking nightmare scenario!! I hope the Specials stay fit for the Gig at Hammersmith in November...
he colapsed in London. i was there and never got a refund

Why is it that when a pop start dies, everyone starts buying their music?
Jackson currently occupies the top 7 best selling albums on iTunes. I'm guessing he'll likely set a bunch of sales records over the coming weeks, kind of bizarre that he's going to generate so much money when he's died.

Theres a clause in all contract called force majeure that covers that. Basically any 'act of god' causing the gig to go belly up, tough shit. Im paraphrasing.

If there is a positive, I think there could now be a generation of kids listening to tracks like Thriller & Billy Jean for the first time. I don't want to Dianify the bloke, but I do feel genuinely sad today that the beautiful, talented boy from the Jackson Five is dead.
Really hope he is remembered for his music...because the man was one of the greats. A great musician, an innovator and a truly great performer. Damn it, I want to watch the Thriller video right now, start to finish.

Bloke was a pure fruitcake who fiddled with kids.....
OK he made some great music (once apon a time) but he was hardly up there with the very best like Elvis or The Beatles - yet everyone on the telly and radio are going completely bonkers !

I'd say someone who spanned 45 years and had the highest selling album, and who spanned several genres is right up there with Elvis and the like...
Yeah, the guy had his issues, but you can't fault his music.

yeah deffo an all time great.i dont understand how people actualy expected him to do 50 concerts.a bloke who was clearly wasting away would have struggled to have done 1, let alone 50.sadly he couldn't even do a single gig in the end.

He did his best work on Bo Selecta.
They were showing some pictures of him on TV and one of them looked more like Bo Selecta Jackson than Michael Jackson. Its possible someone slipped a Bo Selecta picture in for a bit of a laugh.

I'm sorry but for a generation of people at least, Michael Jackson was and will always be a lot higher up there than Elvis or The Beatles - just look at the all time best selling Album charts....is that the beatles or elvis on top....NO. Quite simply he has had a bigger impact on peoples lives than anyone before him, or probably after him. And all jokes aside, god knows I've told a few too, he was in the eyes of the law proven innocent of any 'kiddy fiddling'. The man was messed up yes, but thats what 45 years of a 50 year life in the limelight does to some people - I dont believe he was ever a kiddy fiddler, he was just a kid himself right to the end. The man never grew up but he sure as damn it did produce some of the best music the world has ever and will ever see.

Have to disagree with you there. I'd say he was right up there with Elvis and The Beatles. I agree some of the reaction is completely OTT. (I think you could have predicted it, to tell the truth.) But equally, I think there are also some who are being a little too dismissive of his achievements.
