Thats 4 points dropped against Tamworth..

The only thing I know about Tamworth, is that it was the seat of MP Sir Robert Peel, of copper fame, who issued a Manifesto for the election of 1834, in which he stated the Tories would accept the changes of the 1832 Great Reform Act, which did away with Pocket and Rotten Boroughs...despite the fact he was returned unopposed in Tamworth, by the voter, a dachshund called Colin.

He also agreed to look at abuses in the Church and make necessary reforms.

It's generally regarded thta the Tamworth Manifesto outlined the beliefs of the modern Conservative party, namely say anything that seems popular to keep in your safe seat.

That's why I still find it hard to dislike Exeter Cheesy

I loved that match! Never been so happy. Seeing Oxford fuck up on Sky was magical.

I also have a soft spot for Orient.

Oxford are the leeds of non-league, think they are too big for the division

not true

everyone hates them

partially true, everyone else hates the clubs at the top, though luton and stevenage are far more despised because both have massive pricks for managers (dick money and graham westley), and luton are just a bunch of cunts. overall we have a pretty good rep amongst the other conf sides, our away fans are pretty sound

...do Oxford fans have the same rant about "...teams up their game when they play us"?

yes, you should see what happens when teams get a point or three against us, home and away

Perhaps Oxford United players should up their game to cancel out the inferior sides over-performance? Smiley

Leeds' bemoaning of such events is funnier though considering they beat Manchester United this season, therefore having to perform better than they usually do.

Oxford... Ahh (in an Alan Partridge voice)

Having not played them in so long, I figured my distaste would've wained slightly. If anything, the opposite has been happening recently. So it gives me nothing but joy to see them fucking it up again.

It's been over a decade since they've beaten us in the league.  My interest is waning.

Anyway, I really don't like threads like this...especially 10 games or so before then end of the season.  I have a thing about jinxing things, and convince myself that they will end up storming the division from here on while we end up storming to 7th place.

here's our form since the doginess started on 28 dec:

DLWDLWWWDLDD

actually not that bad. as with any media or fan portrayal of a situation, hysteria takes over.

we're certainly out of form, a little low on confidence, and having trouble with scoring in particular. all three are quite obviously related though, so it wouldn't take much to get back on track. hopefully the return to fitness of constable, murray, and potter - arguably our 3 most important players - will see us turn the corner.

rushden away on weds, home to gateshead on saturday, and then the big trip to stevenage.

as ardilles says, plenty left to play for.

The only thing I know about Tamworth, is that it was the seat of MP Sir Robert Peel,
and they were famous for a couple of young pigs escaping from an abbattoir a few yearts back. If that had happenned in Scumland then no doubt they would have Fyffes finest shoved up their rectums and been "roasted" by the locals.

I was trying to remember where Richard Money ended up. I'm very glad we ended up with Danny Wilson rather than him.

It's okay, this thread is over a year old now - and they failed to get promotion then.

As I mentioned in my post that bumped this thread - I expect Oxford to go up but they're not making life easy for themselves.

Oxford are the leeds of non-league, think they are too big for the division, annually fuck it up and everyone hates them and laughs when they fuck it up.

Perfectly summed up, and in a very succinct fashion to boot.

ps You're an amusing fecker too. There, that's your rusty sherriff's-badge nice & clean.
