I hate hearing about redundancies etc. its so sad wondering how people will be able to support their families.

I'm ok luckily at the moment but god help me if my MOT fails this month as I don't have any spare cash to afford repairs. (Of course I know there are bigger things to worry about than car repairs btw)

Good luck tomorrow then.  This thread is fucking depressing and my heart goes out to all those this has impacted on.  Been made redundant myself three times in the past.

Sorry to hear about peoples problems. I thought I was going to be at risk a couple of weeks ago but strangely the pub industry atleast oiur pubs have picked up a bit, ok margins aren't great but we are making more money which is what we want and with Punch Taverns and Enterprise fucked (there were protests over lease money, the licencees think that Punch & Enterprise are using their deposits upwards of £50K to keep the companies going as share prices as plummeted) we may come out the other end just a bit better which is what we aimed for in the long term. Nothing sorted but luckily it is looking up a bit.

I got paid £400 last week !. That was the first pay apart from monthly commision of £500 that I've recieved since October.
The good news is that I sorted out 3 mortgages too, which again are the first since last september.

Be afraid, be very afraid.  Water industry job losses - highly regulated and protected profit industry laying a few people off = nobody is safe apart from Poundland staff.
