Leighton James was one of my all time favourites. Great feet and footballing brain and always played with passion. RIP.

Always slightly concerning seeing similar aged people pegging it.
Still, look on the bright side, the reds are going . . .?

Interesting to see that the headlines featured other roles he played. First thing I thought was ‘Gi’s a job! I can do dat!’

Same here...same with every person I know who has commented on it. I suppose if you are of a certain age, it's kind of burned into your psyche...I would imagine those articles basically came from the same source and the person writing it was too young to remember BFTBS...

When I first saw the news my first comment was “Yosser Hughes has died”, my other half didn’t know who I meant, until she saw a clip from the News

I'm a few years too young for Boys from the Black Stuff, and only now understand why Simon Hughes off the cricket is always called Yosser.

Steve Albini. Producer of Nirvana and Pixies and musician behind Big Black and Shellac dies aged 61.
Very sad. An icon of American leftfield indie.
