Perfect for when one leaves for a better club or gets sacked.

So in the space of 4 days we've gone from "we know our man" to "it's down to two".  Got to admit I don't think AF & co have handled all this very well.

of course it's down to two, that's what happens when you have a shortlist? they're speaking to all three and now the three's two, meaning we're closer to getting our man?

I don't get the beef?

I think it might be because the other day they announced they 'had their man'... and now it's 'down to 2'. Conflicting statements are a bit annoying.

Chief Executive Nick Watkins has confirmed the Club are down to the final two candidates in the selection process to find the man to take over as Manager of Swindon Town Football Club.

Watkins and Director Jeremy Wray will speak with Chairman Andrew Fitton, currently in the United States, late this evening as they close in on the decision of the new manager.

It is anticipated that an appointment will be made ahead of Saturday's visit of Yeovil Town with Watkins speaking to the media on Wednesday afternoon with the latest update.

"The two candidates we have been speaking to are currently in work," he said.

"We hope to be in a position on Thursday to speak to the Club concerned with a view to the selected candidate joining Swindon Town Football Club," Watkins said.

"Throughout the process we have at all times remained committed to identifying the candidate who in our view can take this club forward and who over the next four to five years, can assist us is achieving our declared Championship objective.

"The innate ability to manage, motivate, coach and inspire players, allied to first hand experience of operating at League One or Championship level as a minimum are essential attributes that the successful candidate must show."

have they ever said they had their man? I think they've admitted they know who their man is, which is completely different from being able to get their man.

I am interviewing Simon Cox. And no, he's not our new manager!
