i don't want him here personally. Stinks of the wise earer and he'll fuck off asap.
yes there is no loyalty in football anymore but i think thats even more so with Poyet.
Sour grapes here i'm affraid so would rather have Holloway as he shows some charisma which AF stated he wants.
I think the lads need to go back to basics and start enjoying there football again and Holloway would do that.

Ah a football topic has been brought back.

Although, I'm bored of this now! Cheesy I imagine Crewe fans are excited about the possibility of discussing who will be taken over at Alexandra Stadium because they haven't had an external appointment since 1983.

However in the last 3 years we've had Onuora, Wise, Sturrock & Malpas and it grows tiresome very quicky all of these "he could do a job/he's rubbish" debates.

I used to belong to the thinking that "we can't have him because he'll leave sooner rather than later" but now I'm just not bothered - Fitton will go for the chap who'll tick as many of the boxes as possible and that includes what the fans would think.

No decent articles have emerged either.

Surely Christian Roberts is a bit biased Seeing as how Dennis and Gus
a)sorted out/supported him with his rehab
b) offered to buy hom a holiday if he scored some goals

Or, that we were as good under them as we've been for ages?

...so Christian Roberts thinks Poyet's  the man for the job in today's Adver non story.

Personally I don't....I know there's a school of thought that if he does well and clears off we'd be in a better position, but I want someone who does a good job and doesn't clear off.

On Monday night on Sky.....they had Cliftonville v Glentoran.  Steve Lomas pundit,  was bigging up the managerial qualities of his mate Alan McDonald, who is manager of Glentoran.

Could a Lomas/McDonald dream ticket be the leftfield solution that AF has hinted at?

MacDonald could go in goal!

MacDonald could go in goal!

He could then join the illustrious quartet of STFC managers and caretakers, who have kept goal when outfield players.

 Andy Rowland

 Jimmy Quinn

 Adie Williams

Apart from Quinn we won all the games if MacDonald is included.

 Steve Finney for manager then.

PS think Reeeves did a game or two as well, but can't think which ones.

I seem to recall a horror show game, which like so many recent games I've done my best to forget...we were possibly 3 down when Reeeves went in, and he didn't concede any more....may well have been Brentford.

I'm sure i recall Reeves being in goal for a penalty, when the Keeper was sent off for what it was awarded for? This was during Kings reign and we were at home. This was taken towards the townend, and i'm sure it went in. So i suspect that could be the other occasion or i'm remebering the same occasion wrong.

I remember that as well, very vaguely though. Off to swindon-town-fc.co.uk I go!

I am warming to the idea of poyet, just think he is the sort of bloke players would respect but also like at the same time. I think its important in the lower leagues that the players like and respect the managers.

me too DRS.  I have concerns over what influence Wise had vs him because out set-up seemed very Wimbledon when not in possession, but I've seen a suggestion of Gorman as number 2.  If that could be achieved (I can't see it but you never know) then it would be a winner I think.  Either way, going for Poyet would make the number 2 slot quite important.
