...so Christian Roberts thinks Poyet's the man for the job in today's Adver non story.
Personally I don't....I know there's a school of thought that if he does well and clears off we'd be in a better position, but I want someone who does a good job and doesn't clear off.
On Monday night on Sky.....they had Cliftonville v Glentoran. Steve Lomas pundit, was bigging up the managerial qualities of his mate Alan McDonald, who is manager of Glentoran.
Could a Lomas/McDonald dream ticket be the leftfield solution that AF has hinted at?

Well it'd certainly stop the infamous close season Steve Lomas rumour threads.

I like the close season....so I thought I'd start a Steve Lomas rumour to make it feel like June/July

Managers come, managers go. Who would of thought that, a/ anybody would of come in for Sturrok so quickly. b/ he would of left at what could of been the first oppotunity after he's loyalty rhetoric.
6 months ayear of success beats a year of stagnation. Then ther's the money a depating manager under contract would bring in. In modern parlance, it's all good.

There's no loyalty in any business so why should a football club be different. You cannot blame someone if a better more lucrative offer comes along and they take it.

All very true, but in today's world there are figures who are perceived to have done well, because of their media profile, and other more low profile figures who do a similar job and are largely overlooked. The fella at Blackpool Simon Grayson, is the sort of thing I mean. Long time Leicester left back, and probably a few others that I can't think...that's what I mean by low profile....turned Blackpool right round, worked on a shoestring at a building site rather than a ground, and has kept them up, on gates similar to ours. If it had been Gus Poyet...he'd have been gone from there by now. That's what I think AF had in mind with MM, so it didn't work out, but I think the strategy is right.

Talking of loyalty I see that Dario Gradi is going to be back in charge in the manager's role for Crewe from Saturday. Cue their revival and we play them soon as well!

Surely Christian Roberts is a bit biased Seeing as how Dennis and Gus a)sorted out/supported him with his rehab b) offered to buy hom a holiday if he scored some goals

But if the right contract is in place then that'll will be a bonus. At the moment I think we need someone to lift the players. Someone who the players will respect, be that a no mark or a 'name'. Aslong as the players respond.
That blackpool ground is shocking. Wasn't it the week before we played them last, that a fan fell through the away 'stand'?!

Gradi turned Crewe from a perennial seeker of re-election into a production line financially stable club who had short stays in the second tier....AF made the I think pointed comment that Crewe are the only solvent club in L1. I suspect though that AF's head may have been turned into going for something a bit more short term, in the probably misguided hope that it might stop the fans moaning so much.

Every time (3 times) I go to Blackpool it rains. Each time as well I have been in different parts of their ground. First time, along the side in terraces when Invicible missed a last minute pen, then a quite awful 0-0 draw behind the goal in a stand so old it was untrue and then in that undercover temporary stand (technically the same part as the first time) for the 2-2 draw when Igoe got that fat guy sent off for feigning injury!

Fucking Invincibile 11 of our last 13 games v Blackpool have been drawn since the infamous 6-2 defeat in 86. Our only win, 1-0 v a McMahon managed Tangerines, with a goal scored by Alan Young...his only league goal.

He did, but I thought Walsall also made profits on their last 2 seasons.

I'd have no major issues with Poyet if he took over. It would add a bit of excitement to those easily pleased and those who don't think about the bigger issues.
However, with a mega experienced assistant manager by this side, it could work I guess.
I'm not pro the idea but there are worse solutions, probably.
