Dont know about the state at Walsall, but seeing the Wolves highlights the pitch did look borderline at best, they should have at least started it though and see how it went, that way everyone would have ticket stubs etc and prove that they went for any recompense, seems like common sense hasn't prevailed where fans are concerned again!

Pitch could of been cleared.....Walsall sat on their hands, thinking the game would go ahead.

I went last night and got there at 7pm found the game was off and went to watch Wolves V Swansea. Got in there just in time for kick off, didn't seem to bad to me. (not sure if Wolves got under soil heating?)
It didn't rain or snow for the rest of the evening there. The game could've been played.
oh, I sat/stood in the Wolves singing section, they have more fickle fans than us and seem very quiet when they score.

Given the reports here that there was no snow, I'd make the assumption from this picture that the Walsall groundstaff did fuck all to help the pitch...

That could've been cleared. No point on dwelling on it now though as annoying as it was for those who went (Mex warned y'all!)

Yet another example of what a soft game this really is these days, there's barely a centimetre of snow on that pitch. Come on whatever happened to "it's a man's game".

Jan - you are right..........Players safety?? Fuck off!
If we all got together we would reinact the 'Four Yorkshire Men' sketch.
" In my day we played in two foot of snow, only had shorts and went 'skins' and if we were'nt three up be alf time, the coach would beat us t'death we'd Tea tray! Back on Sharrar after match for 6 hour trek back to County Ground."

"Shorts?? Shorts? What I'd given for shorts. One day we played a match on Saturday morning (before we woke up) a match at lunchtime, away at Doncaster, then home match at 3 o clock all in 10 foot high snow drifts, and if we didn't win them all, by 6 goals per match, the manager would send us all to a Stalinist death camp in Siberia, bloody shorts?"

The walsall fans said in the pub that part of the reason was safety for the fans slipping off the seats, and them getting home after the game.

Why would people slip off the seats? If people want to stand on slippy seats (which is against the rules anyway) and fall off then surely that is their own stupid fault? I am assuming people wouldn't slip off the seats sitting down.
