I agree Malpas/Flash, but I was surprised he'd even come out with it given the pressure he's under, it only serves to add fuel to the fire.

Just wasn't clever in my opinion. He's not overly clever when it comes to playing the media game.

Lucky the Adver has banned its comments section, it would have gone into meltdown with that unfortunate quote, tongue in cheek or otherwise

If it is indeed a direct quote and reliant on the context in which it was used

A lot of possible deviants

that's true DRS, but it could have been a throwaway comment that Malpas feels was insignificant, but that the Adver decide to make a meal off. Also, their questioning will always try and steer players to say certain things, that's just the way newspaper journalism is.

I don't blame the adver, they're only trying to fill pages, I just felt it was naive on Malpas' part in the current situation. I was incensed reading it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Not ideal when people are calling for you're head; that's the sort of thing you'd expect Kingy to say.

I agree with him in some respects. We picked up more points doing that than we have now.

However, I believe this comment has been taken out of context hugely. Probably the Adver singling out one line in a conversation to sex up a non-story. Probably about time I cancelled the delivery of that piss poor newspaper.

Oh come on, it's not that bad a thing to say, I understamd what he means, it'd be better for the average town fan if we won all our home games and lost away, that was more town fans would see decent football and the pressure would be off MM to a certain extent, not really worth the reaction some have given this sentence.

Yeah, I read that as losing away is preferable to losing at home. And you can't really argue with that, more home losses increases the pressure in so many ways.

Did anyone hear the BBC RS Malpas clip this morning, telling players to top talking (to the press) and start playing? I kind of only half heard it,  did he say something about not caring if the players didn't respect him or something.?

What he says makes sense.

At the moment we are losing at home and drawing away, which is 1point every 2 games

If we were winning at home and losing away that would be 3points every 3 games

Thus we'd have more points and be better off. Not difficult to understand now is it?
