I wonder if I’m just getting old but this expectation that we should be anywhere other than where we sit in the league and Malpas’ is to blame is almost deluded.

We had a good season in League one last year while the club teetered on oblivion and we have been told by the new owners that it will be a steady progression with the CumpShip the target in THREE years.

We’re eight games into the season where we have had a shit load to moan about and it isn’t good enough but reading some of the comments I wonder if we’d be better off changing the red shirt to black and white barcodes and standing outside of the County Ground all day to bleat about how hard done by we all are.

Malpas has been brought in for the long haul and the witch hunt is feeble.   More so from those who have been out to get him from day one as he didn’t meet the expectations of a ‘big’ name replacement for mumbles.  I was no fan of King or McMoan towards in last few weeks but by Christ poor old Malpas is being vilified more than those pair of clowns put together.

Paul - could it be that people have been on JPM and Aljofree's back's because they have been consistently shite since the start of the season ?

I am not hearing that about Jack Smith, McNamee, Cox etc....

That sums it up really. Apart from Tranmere McNamee has been pretty shit this season. He's had a good couple of 5 minute spells here and there but ultimately since opening day he's done very little but hes a fan favourite so gets no stick.

I've stood up for JPM in the past but cant anymore he's been poor. Not helped by our midfield not giving him service but he has been poor.

Shoot me if you like but was Aljofree really that bad Saturday. How many stupid mistake did he make? For the first goal he tried to cut out the ball instead of sticking with his man, he made the wrong decision however if he'd got a proper foot on the ball he would have made the right decision it was that close between clearing it and failing. Other than that I thought he looked alright. Did the Millwall forwards get much more out of him? Millwall only had 4 shots....

The entrie midfield were much worse than Aljofree in my opinion...

Dazza

When the fans were purchasing season tickets they were being offered the Swindon experience, Pre season we were told are defence was solid and we were fitter than we have been for years. New fans have a right to be very bemused by not getting what they have been promised.

I have been following the town for 24 years now and as long as i can remember this is the worse i have felt about the playing staff and management. That has nothing to do with past or deluded expectations that is to do with witnessing possibly 3 of the worst games i have witnessed in the last 10 years and absolutely no passion whatsoever.

I would say it comes down to the fear of relegation,if we was sitting in the top half of the table most fans would be happy,It's early day's i know, but when we have not played that well all season people tend to see the trap door looming.

This moment in time you cant blame them, because it's hard to see where the next three points is coming from.

8 points from 8 games is worrying though isn't it?
along with the poor form of individuals?
there are cretins who have not given maplas a fair chance, and i'd say the same about jpm,and aljofree. but it is what it is.

The constant aimless punts up front, the lump into the stands when there is time to put your foot on it, 2-1 down with 5 minutes to go usher the ball out for a goal kick by the corner flag and to then be 3 foot away and walk away having to let your goalkeeper run 25 yards to fetch it. The guys body language is all wrong at the moment I am afraid to say he should be the one in the stands not Ifil.

If you purchase a season ticket then you do it (or should) with the knowledge that anything can happen during the season and that pre-season optimism more often than not turns out to be a false dawn, something that becomes apparent long before Christmas. This applies to most clubs not just Swindon so I agree with Dazza that to think otherwise is slightly deluded.

Nah you are right and obviously anything can happen BUT i am sure they did not expect to see that level of performance.

Fucksake last season we finished off battering teams pre season(pointless i know) we played and competed against very good european teams. As long as i can remember our home form has always been fairly solid now it is not.

8 points from 8 games is a terrible return,The problem is we got beat by cheltenham, colchester who we should have beat or at least took four points.I would like to know some opinions of the tranmere game,I was on holiday so i missed it,what was our defence like ? did we play the passing game and get the ball to macca ? was tranmere poor ?

Tranmere were even worse than us defensively, but had a few chances themselves in the 1st half that they fucked up.

Their midfield stood off us and allowed us to pass it about nicely.

They played 4-3-3 which allowed macca to constantly be isolated against the right back.
