I think a poll is needed here, I'd have thought most people on here were "partnered" up, not single.

Hey, I thought that was the most reasoned and measured part of the whole post. It's not my fault the forum is largely populated by sad singletons and divorcees.

I'd have thought the Pride thread  would have shown a large number on here eschew the conventional bourgeois ideas of the late 19th Century, in favour of more flexible relationships and family set ups.

That's a stupid comparison.

You're still expecting a player, a paid employee, to show the same level of loyalty to the club as you, a fan.

You're mad.

No I don't expect the same loyalty. It was actually supposed to highlight that you wouldn't make the comment even if you weren't going to go to watch Swindon.

That example infuriates me - if I was on £800-odd p/wk I'd be bloody loyal!  When he's on such an inflated wage he should have more respect for his employers who, in a long-winded way, are us.  I pay for my ticket, so in a roundabout way, I own his sorry ass!

P.s.: for the record I'm not single, but I can be if you're interested?  Banana Blow Kiss

Of what fucking relevance is that?

I thought you were above that sort of level of argument Reg.

Presumably that means Bangcock isn't entitled to an opinion on this either, or any of the other overseas fans thet post on here.
The answer for what it's worth is fucking rarely. Sometimes if there's a match on when I'm down visiting family I'll go. But I get to Swindon rarely and I have to admit that recently when I am there I've been prioritising spending what time I have there with my Mum rather than fucking off to football.

If I still lived in town I'd have a ST and go each home game. If I lived a bit closer I'd be able to give up an afternoon every few weeks to go to the saturday home games I expect. But with a round trip of over 350 miles to get to the CG it would take a day out of my weekend. During the week I work away a lot and work long fucking hours whether I'm away or not. My other half does the same. We're lucky if we see each other for a couple of hours each evening.

So no I don't spend one of the two days a week in which I might get to spend some time with her going to football.

Sorry for having a relationship and a life, I know that marks me out as a bit "odd" in the fraternity that is the TEF.

Obviously those of you that are "married to the club" have far more of a right to comment on the moral conduct of a young man that you've never met, based on a 5 sentence interview on the back pages of a local rag.

Fucking hell Reg how old are you? Did growing up never seem like an attractive option to you?

Why isn't Bangkok entitled to an opinion on any of us ex-pats?

And another thing ... I'd rather have a cocky, arrogant, self-confident striker like Cox than some gay, in an old fashioned sense, striker who watched his p's and q's in case he upset some of the hyper-sensitive luvvies on here!

Fuck this is pointless.

Just try to live in the real world FFS. You support a middling lower league club decent players will come and go. The really good ones will always be looking to better themselves, probably from the day they arrive.

Whether you hate it or not just accept it.

You know what I kind of agree with this sentiment.  I think that's why I hate this Peacock love fest, "he's a legend.... he loves the club....." bollocks, he'd be off like a shot if he was good enough to attract any attention from a "bigger" club.

The only player I admire for loyalty out of the current lot would be Jerel, as he has been here for a few years.  I give the benefit of the doubt to some of the youth team coming through, as it wouldn't be fair to have a go at them, but the likes of Roberts, Peacock, Aljofree etc banging on in the paper about what the fans should do and think pisses me off.

What about Blair  ... and Pook? Both showing remarkable loyalty and resilience despite being largely ignored just because they are not good enough in somebody's opinion?

Pointless? Try Immodium. It's difficult not giving a shit when you're not in complete control of your bowels.
