OUFC - players graveyard.

I think that's non league football in general. But I wouldn't know. Is that right O.F.?

8 seasons since we shared a division, perhaps if we get relegated and them promoted then it will happen in 09/10 but otherwise a whole generation of new Swindon fans will not have experienced the mastery we have over our rivals.

No I don't think so. Obviously we've shipped out some shit over the last couple of seasons, but there have been a number of players who've not done well for us yet have moved onto league clubs and established themselves as regulars. Lee Bradbury, Jude Stirling, Chris Zebroski, Lee Mansell, err probably a few others too. Tim Sills looked poo for us but has gone on to be one of the leagues top scorers last season.

"Your side now are where they are because they deserve to be there"

I wasn't under any illusion that the situation was any different to that but thanks for clearing things up for me. As I said we've been playing shit for years.

Once you left The Manor and lost the slope, there was no way back.

Is the former unlucky Swindon striker, Andy Caton at Oxford, or wasn't a deal done?

Saw Ron and Graham Atkinson play for United once (or was it Reggie and Ronnie Kray?).

Just remembered, I was at the CG the last time Oxford won there (1:3), pain that is still burnt into my soul.

The manor was a toilet but at least it was a toilet with character.
Now they play in a wind tunnel crossed with a toilet.

Pretty much. Most teams have a couple of players who could cope at League level, mixed in with 9 other fat blokes.

Once you left The Manor and lost the slope, there was no way back.
I loved the Manor. I wish we were still there, I really do. Walking up the steps into the London Road was something else.

I don't know who this Caton bloke is but I vaguely recall his name. We had the usual load of trialists and kept the best few.

We played a little club called Portsmouth the other day. They only bloody sent their reserves though:

GK James
CB Distin
CB Traore
LB Crainie
RB Lauren
MF Kranjcar
MF Mendes
MF Bouba Diop
MF Diarra
ST Crouch
ST Defoe

They brought four subs but used two. We lost 2-1 and weren't trounced. Beat Cheltenham the other day too, who hadn't lost all preseason and have played decent clubs. I'm going to put some money on us to go up.

Thats about the same side that played us and likewise we were unlucky to loose 3 -1

I rekon Dean Windass was the last genuinely good player Oxford ever had.

Maybe Oxford think the season includes all the friendly games in july, and thats why they usually conk out at christmas?

Meh - we'll meet Oxford again one day, they have to be up there this season, don't they? oxford_fan will defend his lot to the death just as most of us would do for Swindon - this thread could go on forever!

Jamie Brooks was a good prospect until he got wiped out by disease.

Dean Whitehead is our last good one though, now Sunderland captain. Who's yours? Got to be top level.

Errrrr, do Everton / Newcastle / Spurs reserves count?

We have a proud recent history of selling our best yoofs sometimes before they've even played a 1st team game.
