Forgot, I saw "District 9" the other day.

I quite liked it. Not at all what I was expecting but very original and how ironic that such a movie would come from a country such a S. Africa.

The credits are now ending on my TV to Grand Torino.

Fantastic stuff. A bit of a slow start but I think that is just introducing the characters all of whom where strong.

Why didn't Eastwood start directing sooner, he ain't half bad at it.

He's actually directed nearly every film he's been in since the early 70's.

I watched the U.S. version of State of Play last night.

Despite a slow start it was quite good - possibly one too many twists though.

I too have just watched Gran Torino. Really enjoyed it. Thought it skipped over some bits that could've been elaborated on which possibly would've made the story better and I thought the ending was a bit predictable, but it was still very good nonetheless.

No

Me either. Hope you don't mind a second opinion.

Well I actually got round to going to see it (Fish Tank) last night and it's really good.

The acting is some of the best I've ever seen.

1 had a pretty good soundtrack and some excellent landscape shots (It made Newcastle look beautiful).

Plot was naff though. And the cameos were laughably hokey.

Tim Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland is out next year. With Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Christopher Lee as the Jabberwock, Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat and Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar. That's a nice cast starting right there. Apparently there's some stop-motion involved. I hope there's a nod to Jan Svankmajer

Just finished Dead Snow, unfrozen Nazi Zombies, and lots of deaths by chainsaw. Not really a horror/Evil Dead type fan, but still very watchable 7/10. Wifes rating 0/10.
