can anyone explain to me the significance of handing in a transfer request - like Gypsy Carroll did yesterday ?
They lose any money that is owed on the contract. If they are just sold then the contract is paid up

They also lose any claim on a percentage of the transfer fee - although the buying club will probably pay this as a "golden hello".

Mike Grella I reckon, after a tweet that appeared yesterday and then disappeared rather rapidly.

How does the 2-clubs-in-a-season rule work?
I only ask because Grella has already played for Leeds and Carlisle this season.

Beeb Wiltshire said this morning it was a forward from a Premiership club, so if they're right - it's not Grella

Don't think anyone knows. It does include loan periods though, as it was a problem for Revell last season. There is some way they can get round it though, as Revell was eventually cleared for a third club. I get the impression the Football League just say bollocks to FIFA and make their own rules up as they go along.

The way Revell got round it was he agreed with Southend to be released and was therefore unattached, so he could then sign for Orient outside of the windows.

Can anyone tell me why Premier league transfer fees are never "undisclosed"?

Probably because they dont need to hide the fact they can pay it, unlike the lower leagues where if you get the odd million everyone knows, what you've got tucked down the sofa and prices go up for players you are interested in. That and they are fucking lunatics also.

According to Revell's Wikipedia page, the get out clause is an emergency loan (as I think someone else said). A standard loan counts towards the 2 clubs but an emergency loan doesn't. So as he'd come here on a standard loan it counted towards the 2 clubs so he couldn't sign for Wycombe on a permanent deal, he ended up going there on an emergency loan for the rest of the season instead.

Says on Wikipedia that Vince has a baby's arm attached to his groin though...
I think what you said is probably right though.
