Undisclosed transfer fees should be stopped.....the fans have a right to know how much a player is bought/sold for.
Fans put money into the club...and time a plenty,it smacks of wanting to hide the facts of a deal...which in my opinion shouldn't be the case.
I want to know how much we sold Austin for.......so whats the big deal in telling us.
Here are some good reasons to hide the facts of deals, contracts and transfers:
1. You don't want other clubs to know what you'll buy or sell players for
2. You don't want to unsettle the other players at the club because of contract details
3. There are non-financial side-deals and add-ons (i.e. promises of future loans) that you don't want other clubs to know)
4. You don't want everyone (but especially agents) to know what your wage structure is.
The way you conduct transfers potentially gives you an edge. Wenger's ability to snap up people like Fabregas gave him a massive advantage.
If Reading hadn't found out about Morrison's release clause, we'd probably still have him.
Transfers are all a bit murky and it would be good to have more openness, but there's a difference between 'having a right to know' and just wanting to know.
