This thread is a disappointment.

Please note the this comment was orginally in the ALF thread.
I could never hate reading transfers that rarely come true.

this just cropped up on the adver page
7.49pm: Swindon Town are desperately trying to secure the services of two targets believed to both be strikers. One of those deals is expected to be a permanent deal while the other is more likely to be a loan move. However, with only three hours remaining until the window closes, the clock is ticking.

Wonder why it takes so long to negotiate a loan deal? It obviously does, but I wonder what the delay is - unless the loaning club are waiting on someone in too.

Hopefully they won't pause the negotiations during Eastenders

Maybe it's Anelka, Chelski are waiting on Fernando

Probably waiting on other suitors as well.
It's been really quiet in our league, certainly nobody moved who you'd think "bugger, if only we got him"

I believe that Danny can 'sell' Swindon Town FC to footballers, in fact I think it's probably one of his strong points. Ritchie Jones to Hartlepool United for example.
However, it's not as easy when you're flirting with relegation.

Not been alot going on at all, a few players moving earlier in the month that I'd have liked to see us go for but nothing happening today.

Maybe it's a loan with a view to a permanent, therefore we have to negotiate a potential fee as well? Or maybe until the end of the season and therefore no recall, as opposed to short term with recall clause?

Maybe we're desperately persuading Bolton to let us have Ward back

I think DW said on Saturday that with any loan deals done now the parent club can't recall the loan player. Whereas with the emergency loan window which opens next week they do have that right, He said this in the context that it is not easy to get loans now, because clubs loaning the players out need to be sure they would not recall them. Could well be the case with the likes of Danny Ward for example

I still think the loan will be danny ward (no source), just that he was supposed to be Wilson top target before Austin went
