i'm highly amused at people getting irate at transfer rumours in a rumours thread.

Likewise. It's surely the one thread where we must be tolerant towards the news provided? It's why the thread was created.

Agreed. I enjoy the rumours, though would be refreshing for some to be true. Interested where people "get" the names from when they post them.

First rumour of this thread, by the fondly remembered/forgotten Fatbury.
... and we still haven't signed him (Long I mean, not fatbury)!!! Wilson out even though he wasn't here in May 2008.

So you are telling me that Benyon played against our back four & didn't score. That means he must be shit & we shouldn't sign him Cheesy

I'm also highly annoyed by the lack of ambition shown by our board, if they had any idea what they were doing we would have signed Messi by now. They are fucking loaded so I don't buy this can't afford him shit.

Tails mate from Torquay reckons Benyon is signing for us. Probably bollocks but you never know.

With all the rumours of us watching him earlier in the season I'd say it was an evens bet.

I think the Torquay fans have accepted he is going to leave with Swindon a likely suitor.  He has been watched on more than one occation and fits in with the statement of not being able to sign a certain striker whilst his club are still involved in the FA Cup.

Seen Benyon play a few times over the past couple of years, whilst he can find the net he's not likely to score unless it's from 6 yards inside the box. Definitely a poacher and not a provider

Thats all this team needs, this was evident on Saturday - we just need someone to get the ball over the line.

Completely agree he is eaxctly what we want.  My only concern is that he is extremely light weight and against a more physical no nonsense defender he won't even get a sniff at goal.

If we hoof the ball upfield to him don't expect him to win the ball either

we need someone else for him to play alongside, someone like Kuqi or Adebola
