Neither Cox & Allison both had the physicality to provide goals for themselves. Benyon definitely needs a more physical partner to work off of. Whilst he's scored a few goals this season they've all been poachers goals inside the box.
If you Youtube him you can see some of the goals he's scored.
I worry for the lad tbh because it may take time for him to adjust and i know some of our fans will expect a lot from him and when he doesn't provide the goals will turn on him quickly.
The Chief was certainly a more physical player than Coxy, but no need to worry on that score - we've got that man mountain "Big Vince" to provide the physical presence!!!!!!

Not denying we're a bigger club but maybe he has aspirations to play at a higher level, i.e. not in league 2 with us.
Our league position may put him off ?
I didn't say size of club, I said pay.

Thanks for that, looks a tricky player. Any other clubs reportedly sniffing around? (Other than the mandatory Huddersfield interest)

Hello there. Torquay fan here. Was just taking a quick read of your forum as i knew you had just lost Charlie Austin and unfortunately it looks like i am right.
Elliot Benyon would be a superb replacement for Austin. He is the most natural goalscorer we have had at the club for years and after a few years of development he has turned into a quality player.
I see that you are worried about his build. Although not the biggest or the strongest, he will give as good as he gets. Yes he needs to play upfront with someone but can be handy in the air as well as on the floor. If he gets a chance in the 18 yard box, you will be surprised if he doesn't take it.
Benyon is definitely a player who will score you 15-20 goals a season. Add all of this to the fact he works so hard for the team then IF (and i pray to god you do not) you sign him tomorrow then you have got young, promising exciting striker on your books for what will be a bargain price as he only has 6 months left on his contract.

Thanks Mr Tufc. I'm warming to this Benyon chap and so long as he scores six on his debut I might not get on his back.

Cheers for the info, going to be a long day that's for sure. Glad I'm going to be out of the loop most of the day, as this and other boards will probably go into meltdown as time ticks on....

Whereas I embrace the meltdown. Danny has left it all til the last day just to wind us up, cheeky scamp.

I really hope I'm wrong but I can see us not making any signings before the end of the transfer deadline today.

The adver interview with Danny this has concerned me... Mind you that's what they're trying to do.

That's just his post match interview from Saturday. For all we know things have changed dramatically since then.

Wayne Allison was one of the most physical players ever to play for the Town he was massively strong and physical.

Swindon made a bid for Joe Mason. £300,000 according to UK Yahoo Eurosport live transfer ticker, Mason were not interested in a move to Swindon.
Well we don't want him either!
