Most of our top scoring strikers over recent years have had shit records before they joined us and shit records after they left us.

Fallon, Mooney.... Cureton?

Mooney has been our best striker of the last 6-7 years

Thry may have scored more goals then Mooney, but Mooneys positional play, creativity and intelligence imo made him better then Cox and Parkin.

Mooney scored goals whether he played with Fallon, Parkin or was upfront on his own.  He could play with any striker and adapt.  Cox and Parkin couldnt do this as well

19 goals in 45 games with a number of assists is a good return.

Reading their matchday threads, they seem to praise his work rate to the moon, if not pure talent.

Sounds a bit Paynteresque, no?

Doncaster we're on the radio on Friday sayng they probably couldn't afford Stead's wages, as he was likely to be on closer to 10k a week than 5k.

You can all put him out of your minds I think.

Isn't this like having Billy Paynter playing up front with Bill Paynter?

A bit, but with decent wingers we could be looking to play in a similar manner to Sturrock's team- for which you'll remember Paynter and Corr partnered up pretty well before the latter inevitably got injured.

Dont remember Paynter and Corr ever working, but i was never a fan of Corr.

Revel isn't a goal scorer either though is he, would provide more height and ability in the air, but i feel we need a clever striker, who makes intelligent runs, maybe with a little pace. Maybe Hutchison will be that man in time.

Guess this means we'll be able to give BP a rest after 60-65 minutes and bring this fella on and vice versa.
