Danny Webber would be a wonderful signing.

But really... why not Timlin as the new left back, he's a bit tepid in the middle o' the park.

Him playing at left back last year nearly ended his career here....a left back he isnt Strood.

I see Eire International left wonger Alan O'Brien has been given a free from Hibs today, but then saying that theres hundred of good players out there on frees that could do the job.

Could probably do a decent job here.

I reckon Wilson would happily get rid of ifil for nowt. See Ben Davies is leaving shrewsbury, not a bad player

Ben Davies signed for Notts County today apparently

http://www.nottscounty-mad.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=452396

I thought he would have gone to a higher league/bigger club than Notts County IMO.

They're paying him £3,500 a week.

They have been taken over by some rich middle eastern group though.

Another name I heard mentioned was Ross Chisholm, a central midfielder U21 Scottish international just been freed by Hibs.

A Bristol Rovers supporting mate of mine has said he has chosen Bristol Rovers in front of us though, Sounds like a good prospect too.

Quote
Ex Hibs Manager Mixu Paatelainen said that Chisholm "is a bit of a leader, he talks, he organises". Paatelainen was replaced by John Hughes as Hibs manager during the 2009 close season, and one of his first decisions was to release Chisholm.

Yep, I work with the new chairman of consortiums brother!  He used to be a director at Everton.

Whilst i think he's a player on our radar i don't think he is our 1st or 2nd choice, hence why we haven't actually
chased his signature.Paul Trollope has been keen on him for sometime and wants him after Dominic Blizzard turned
down a move to the Mem.

It's interesting that on the OS it says DW is looking for 4 more signings without cox going, so five in all seriousness. With O'Brien possibly joining and slotting in wide right, we still need a first choice left back, and centro campista, and a striker, plus another striker to replace cox.

The two strikers are going to be key. I think one will be a loan deal (Simon Church please) and one a medium sized fee (200-300K). If these five signings are of the quality talked about, such as o'brien, then our starting 11/18 should look pretty tasty for this level, but until the players are on the OS shaking hands with DW, I'm a little anxious about the rest of the summer.

No rumours or anything, just a friday afternoon ramble

O'Brien is a left winger though I can't see him playing wide right.

But HRK was also a left winger. DW doesnt really care what side the wingers play, he swaps them about. If not, why would we sign a left winger when theres so many other areas we need to strengthen before there?

Surely we need more than 4 or 5 players? With Cox leaving and possibly Kanyuka leaving I'd say we need 6 players. We only have 2 strikers (Paynter & Peacock and he's crap!) We need at least 2 strikers maybe 3, a left back, central midfielder, and a right back.
